Starcrossed – Josephine Angelini (2011)

Helen lives on the island of Nantucket with her father.
She has lived there all her life, and despite hating the ocean, Helen doesn’t know anything but her pleasant island life.
Until she tries to kill a boy at school.
She cannot help it, she is hallucinating three women weeping blood that drive all sane thoughts from her mind.
Lucas Delos and his large and strange family all incite the same murderous response, but for the life of her Helen cannot understand why.
I was actually really surprised by how much I enjoyed this book.
It was interesting and fun, and I’m actually looking forward to the next one.
It actually reminds me a bit of City of Bones, romance without romance.
I was happy that this book is more about self-discovery then it is about that strange beautiful boy I cannot be around, but cannot stay away from.
